Humans and Machines Lab

Welcome! The Princeton Humans and Machines Lab aims to understand and steer the behavior of machine learning systems within social and informational environments. We use causal inference, experimental audits, and computational methods to analyze how these systems impact human behavior and society. By treating artificial intelligence as both a subject of study and as a tool for modeling human cognition, we generate insights that inform the design of algorithms, platforms, and policies for socially beneficial AI deployments.

Code for our projects is available at https://github.com/humans-and-machines.
